A record drug crop seizure was made in Ohio recently that was larger than all the growing operations found in that state for the entire previous year. In addition to seizing the drug crop the drug agents also nabbed several Mexican nationals. The ring leader of the drug growing operation, who is believed to be connected to one of the Mexican drug cartels was in the country legally, the other Mexican nationals involved immigration status is presently unknown, but are suspected of being illegals who were smuggled in to the US and forced to work off the cost of smuggling them here. The ring leader now faces up to a life sentence in prison, a very costly proposition for US taxpayers when execution for drug and human trafficking over a US border would be cheaper and more expedient solution, not to mention the signal it would send to future drug and human traffickers about crossing US borders to engage in such criminal activity.
Those who choose to cross our borders illegally and ended up as part of a drug operation should serve a minimum of five years in a prison labor facility before being deported and warned never to return or their next sentence will be twenty years on a work farm where their labor will pay for their crimes, incarceration and deportation costs to eliminate US taxpayers of the burden of footing all the costs without any benefits for having to house and feed these criminals during their stay here.
Illegal entry and criminal activity by foreigners that cross US borders that has been tolerated in the past needs to be brought to an abrupt end with a "NO TOLERANCE" policy for such behavior to send a clear message that the US will deal harshly with people that enter this country illegally or to engage in criminal activity here on American soil.
