NYC Goes Pink: Race for the Cure 20th Anniversary

On Sunday September 12th Central Park and New York City celebrated the 20th Race for the Cure, a run and walk to raise awareness and flight breast cancer.

An estimated 25,000 walkers and runners took part of the event, with many participating to honor relatives and friends who have won and lost the battle against the disease.

Hundreds of cancer survivors bravely marched along, some holding hands and most with their relatives walking along with them.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer was at the starting line, giving hi-5's to the participants (7), who displayed personal messages in signs and t-shirts.

The day was one of celebration of life, love and hope.
