Xixi's Story
The details of Xixi's abuse are so horrifying that they have caused the strongest of characters to buckle and weep.
Xixi was a stray dog. He was found with his eyes dug out, his genitals cut off, and his body covered with stab wounds. No one knows who tortured him, but it is a miracle that he even survived such a horrific abuse. None of us can even begin to imagine what he went through during those minutes, hours, or perhaps even days of abuse. Despite his severe injuries and the agonizing pain, he managed to drag himself around the neighbourhood, searching for food. Apparently no one gave him food because they thought he had a disease.
Xixi was found by a kind volunteer who took him to an Animal Hospital for treatment. As he was being taken to the Hospital, he desperately bit at the rope that tied him, scared thinking he was going to be hurt again. Sadly, the vets couldn't do a thing. Because his wounds had been left unattended, they had already gotten infected - leukemia developed, causing white blood tumors in his body. At the Hospital, he kept retreating to dark corners, looking for a peaceful place to leave the world.
Xixi left us 2 days after his arrival at the Hospital.
We do not have any pictures of Xixi before the abuse. Before the abuse, he was just one of the countless innocent souls wandering the streets. There are very few of us who can look at the pictures we do have of Xixi after the abuse without bursting into tears. Underneath the scars we see a beautiful, loving, loyal and helpless being. He did not deserve this. No living being deserved this horrendous act of pure evil.
There are too many cases of abuse everyday, but Xixi was not just another case. Once you have read this and seen his pictures, he is no longer "just" another case.
Please don't forget to share his story – the abuser has still not been caught. There is no punishment that could make up for this horrible crime, nothing will bring Xixi back to us. He did not receive the love he deserved during his lifetime, but the very least we can do is to make sure that he does get some kind of justice.
