Neruda's house by the sea . . .

I always wanted to go to the house of one of my favourite poets: Pablo Neruda

At last I could make my dream come true.

When I went there (Isla Mocha), it was a marvelous experience. It was like being in a parallel world full of new sensations and words that came deep from the heart.

As soon as I entered the house I could hear Neruda’s voice reciting the words of his most famous poem: “20 poems of love and a song of despair.” Meanwhile, the people around me were observing - with the same enthusiasm as me - this hallucinating view of this house.

Now I understand how Pablo Neruda was so easily inspired to write. Who wouldn´t get inspired with this fantastic view of the sea? A place where you can see the sea-breakers going against the rocks, thus creating the unique characteristic sound of this place.  I felt so welcome in this house. It was as if the poetry would wrap its arms around me and take me to a place I´ve never been.

This is a most do activity during your stay in this country. If you don´t come here you will absolutely regret it.
