It's easy to second guess the Quarterback on the field. "He should have done this or shouldn't have done that...".
It's entirely different being the guy with the ball and knowing that your decisions are what count and determine the outcome of the game- whether your team wins or loses.
The quarterback is America's President Obama and the game is for American worker's financial success. It's an important game. The United States future depends on the outcome.
Obama needs to win. All of us have a stake in the outcome and we're glued to the TV.
Both Republicans and Democrats will benefit if our quarterback pulls it off. This isn't about one side vs. the other..or is it?
Why would some sit on the sidelines and second-guess the current quarterback. Why not help?
Republicans have been second guessing our President all year and offering no concrete advise on what to do to create jobs. They say they will reveal their plans after they again have control of Congress.
America faces the deepest recession since the Great Depression with many Americans unemployed. Why aren't the Republicans helping by doing more than saying "NO"? What ideas are they offering other than extending the Bush Tax Cuts?
If these tax cuts would create jobs, why haven't they now? They're still in place?
Corporations and banks , it appears , are holding President Obama and American unemployed workers hostage until after November's midterm elections.
Banks had no restrictions imposed on them before they received TARP money. Small businesses need capital to expand and hire.
Corporations are using the excuse that there's too much uncertainty in the business environment to hire because of new regulations on health care , taxes and banking reform.
Corporations simply see the GOP as their best hope to keep regulations at a minimum so they can go back to exploiting Americans for fun and profit.
Outsourcing will continue without a Democratic Congress to check the corporate greed.
By keeping unemployment high, Republicans will benefit in November. It's a winning strategy for Corporations and Republicans but a losing proposition for American workers.
A recent poll says that the majority of American voters hold the GOP responsible for the country's economic problems and yet these same majority will likely vote Republican in November.
Why? Impatience with Obama's agenda? Has the President done a good enough job in explaining his Grand Vision of America's Future?
If ever there were reason to doubt the sanity of majority rule, this contradiction is reason. Vote back to power the armchair quarterback party who were responsible for the problems we have to send a message?
President Obama needs to lay out the big plan for putting Americans back to work. He can no longer rely on banks and large corporations to help him.
They haven't. It's a strategy worked out with Republicans for them to regain power. Power for the GOP to do what with? More of what they've done all year? More of nothing?
Are we to believe that the GOP solutions will magically appear after November's elections? Or will banks and corporations start hiring after Congress is controlled by Republicans because that will make the GOP look like they had the better ideas?
What do you think? Could the GOP do more now to help create jobs sooner?
