The annual President election of "Timor Taiwan Student Association" was held on August 29. A total of 60 eminent and respected overseas Chinese gathered together. Teacher Ying-Chin Li, a member of the Association, invited Cultural Goodwill Group to conduct cultural performance. The members of the association had lived in Melbourne for more than two or three decades and they missed very much Chinese culture. Most of the members were educated in Taiwan and they felt touched when seeing the Chinese cultural performances.

The Cultural Goodwill Group is composed of members from UN/NGO Association of World Citizens (AWC), the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), and Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy (TJM). The beginning of the cultural performance was the Chinese female knight performance by a Tai Ji Men sister. She does the sword performance while singing the song "The ancient Moon". Next comes the Tai Ji Men brother who performs Chinese boxing while singing a Cantonese song. The performances were full of the vibration of yin and yang and a combination of powerful energy and soft beauty. The president of Taiwan Student Association, Dong-Yue Hong praised that the concept of culture was put into the performance. So the performance was very attractive to most people. In addition, the cultural performance was a powerful way of heart communication. Teacher Ying-Chin Li was even more excited. He said that when he turned on the TV and saw "Tai Ji Men Cultural Goodwill Group" performing with excellent sensation at the 2000 Sydney Olympic parade, he felt so happy and proud. The performance in 2000 left a deep mark in the memory of overseas Chinese in Australia and the performance is still widely memorized and discussed today.

The Cultural Goodwill Group has many young students in it. The peak of the performance was the energy dance by "Tai Ji Men energy boys and energy girls". When seeing those young people dancing with powerful energies, the overseas Chinese all smiled and did the same movements with those Energy Boys and Energy Girls. Teacher Kuai-Yun Yang said, “You have given us the peaceful smiles and we are very pleased. Although the weather is cold, it suddenly becomes very warm.” Another teacher from East Timor, Tsun-Hsien Lai said, ”Overseas Chinese groups of East Timor is usually shy. It is great to have such an opportunity of culture exchange. I hope such an activity could bring lots of interactions to the overseas Chinese groups and everyone should have energy to lighten up his life.”

In the Cultural Goodwill Group, there were 12 students performing the “Energy Boys and Energy Girls”. During this summer vacation, they participated in the cultural activity on their own expenses. Chieh-An Chen, a law student from National Taiwan University, said, “Energy Boys and Energy Girls” is not an ordinary dance. We must be full of energy, love and peace in our own hearts and spread this energy to people around us.” She also said as a senior in college, she would definitely take the last summer to do great things. These Energy Boys and Energy Girls joined Tai Ji Men with their parents since childhood. They practiced qigong and cultivated their hearts, learning the wisdom of yin and yang, which helped them tell right and wrong. In this era of value confusion, these young people with good hearts and righteousness are even more precious.

Timor Taiwan Student Associationis composed of Chinese from East Timor and Taiwan. Most members are educators such as principals, professors and teachers and they have received education in Taiwan. Dr. Liping Du, Dean of Chinese Studies of the University of Melbourne, was touched and impressed by Energy Boys and Energy Girls and praised them as “the best of the best”. Dr. Du said, ”Nowadays the public morals are corrupted. So the society needs more people like these energy boys and girls to purify our environment and society. It is difficult to find such young people with high morals and values.” Yi-jan Chang, a junior student from department of industrial design of Shih Chien University, expressed that “I love playing around and enjoy the taste of fashion. When I was a kid, I learned correct values and concentration in Tai Ji Men, so I understand what to do and what not to do. As an energy boy, my mission is to spread joy to people. So I don’t have much time to do evil things.”

The major goal of Cultural Goodwill Group for Love and Peace of the World is to promote the concepts of love and peace, respect, and human rights presented by Dr. Hong Tao-Tze (the Honorary Vice President and member of Advisor Board of NGO Association of World Citizens, President of the Federation of World Peace and Love, and Zhang-men-ren of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy). The Cultural Goodwill Group will hold series of seminars related to 2010 World Summit of Human Rights for World Citizens and a cultural feast of artistic qigong and martial arts.

Mr. Dong-Yue Hong, President of Timor and Taiwan Students Association, indicated that the concept of love and peace should be spread out. Taiwan in particular should carry out this concept and spread it out.

Moreover, the Group visited many schools in Melbourne to promote the program “Safeguarding the earth with good hearts and good articles” which has collected good articles from 196 countries around the world.
