We can provide teachers with all of the support they need but until we believe that every child has the ability to go to college or have some other type of post-high school career, our kids will continue to fail. I once spoke at a school where the principal greeted the student with a nice smile and as he turned the corner, she said "He's going to make a great prisoner one day." These types of thoughts make their way to the students directly or indirectly. When we believe every child can succeed, we rarely do not get those results. Many charter schools and even public schools under new leadership have changed their direction for the better because they developed the belief that every child can achieve. This is the key to success.
