My son, Warrant Officer Two Michael Mondini is my hero.
He started in the Air Force as a private and become an accomplished mechanic for the Hercules. Over a seven year period, he went to school and graduated university at the top of his class so that he could join the Army and train to fly the Apache Long Bow....perhaps the most difficult airplane to fly in the world. Many apply, but few make the grade.
He graduated flight school at Ft. Rucker with honors and then went to Iraq and flew almost 1000 hours of combat, enduring incredible hardships living in the desert, winning The Air Medal and many more decorations....he was then sent to Korea and while there, wrote the book on state of the art combat flying for the US Army.....this week he is returning to the USA to be stationed with his group.
He is one in a million!
