There is nothing I find more annoying than ignorant buffoons. I was watching CNN and they had a story about the mosque that was going to be built by ground zero. They interviewed a man who believed that mosques in America should NOT be allowed to build anymore and the existing ones should be torn down. Really? Let me be clear- I do not support religion. I think religion is stupid. That being said, I believe that everyone has the right to practice his/her religion and build whatever religious institutions that they want to. This man on CNN stated that Islam is a violent religion and that its only goal is to wipe off Americans from the face of the Earth.
Here is some advice for the intelligent people of this world- if you are going to make an accusation, make sure you research the material. Yes, there might be some questionable sections of the Qur’an, but most Muslims interpret it by taking into account of when it was written. It is like a novel. You not only analyze it today, but you look at what inspired the author to write the novel. You look at when the Qur’an was written and maybe you can find a justification for that passage.
And when that man states that Islam’s goal is to wipe off Americans off of this globe, he ensures that his stupidity will be noticed. This guy is a Class A dumbass (pardon the language, but that is how I feel about this guy). American wasn’t even a country when the Qur’an was written. Let me go on the record saying that I was raised Hindu so I am not saying all of this with a hidden agenda.
Sometimes I wonder how a man can be so ignorant in the internet age.
Now for the actual mosque controversy. The first amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Muslims have the right to build a mosque where ever they damn well please. We are a country founded upon democratic principles and a country that prides itself on diversity and acceptance of different types of people and cultures.
With that said, I question the wisdom of building a mosque next to ground zero. What idiot in their right mind would do that? Most people would realize that it is much more trouble than it is worth, but again they have the right to be stupid. They have the right to build a mosque near ground zero.
Do the have the right to build a mosque near ground zero? Yes. Is it extremely stupid of them for even attempting to? Yes.
I am furious at the lack of tolerance that some people have and also furious at the lack of foresight that some people have. Grow up everyone.
