The Dutch fundraising campaign called Actie 555 for the victims of the water flood in Pakistan has raised 10 million euros so far.

Several callcenters in The Netherlands have been set up to receive donations from all across the country.

Famous Dutch

A temporal 'headquarters' has been set up in Hilversum, which is the heart of the Dutch media. The building of Beeld en Geluid  is now 'the beating heart' of the fundraising campaign.

It has become a tradition that famous Dutch contribute too. If you're lucky, you might just have a phone call with your favorite idol.

Heart touching

There was a gentlemen who said he has to live with 5 euros each day. He said he will eat white beans in tomato sauce the coming week so he could donate 35 euros for Giro 555. Isn't that wonderful?

Children

Even children have set up their own campaigns. They're selling fruits and cookies, all for Pakistan.

Television program

It hasn't been extremely busy at the call centers yet. However, a television program is still to come. People expect that more money will be raised when it's on air.

Text message

People can also contribute by sending a text message to 4333 (Netherlands only). That brings in 3 euros for Pakistan.

Red button

Communications company UPC made it possible for her clients to donate directly from their television by using the red button on their remote control.

Pixels for Pakistan

A website called Pixels for Pakistan offers anyone to buy pixels and fill it with an image. 25 euros per pixel.

The final amount of money raised will be announced later this evening.
