The hardest thing about mastering portion size is that since we can remember, we've been forced to finish the heaping piles of food on our plates. When we're hungry, we're really hungry, and sometimes a double bacon cheeseburger, a large fry, and a strawberry milk shake really seems the only plausible way to fill the void.
And that's when the vicious outpouring of regret sets in, and you go to bed just as heavy as when you woke up. Cutting down portion size isn't as hard as it needs to be. In fact, if you're eating small meals during mealtime, it means you can eat more later on. So maybe half a turkey sandwich isn't as satisfying than a whole, but you can have the other half later, and a couple hours after that, maybe an apple with peanut butter or some low-fat yogurt.
The hardest thing about portion control is the hunger pain, and the antsy feeling of dissatisfaction. Luckily, there are ways to control this. Some people drink large amounts of water to combat the urge to go back for more, others remove themselves from the situation (dinner table, eating area...etc), and some people turn to appetite suppressing health supplements like AllDaySlim, which remarkably sounds the “full” signal without having to measure this or that beforehand. With a unique blend of fruiting acids, along with orange peel and Assam Fruit extract, the supplement inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates to fat, creating excess glycogen in the liver, which indicates satiety in the brain. Wouldn't it be wonderful to achieve a full feeling of satiation from eating less food?
Another golden rule in portion control? Never serve more than the size of your palm when heaping different sides onto your plate. There's nothing special about the palm, it's a free, easy tool of measurement, and there's not much out there that's free and easy when it comes to weight loss.
I say all of this because I myself love to over indulge, and I'll take anything I can get to stop those cravings!
