No one likes what happened in the Philippines on Monday August 23, 2010. If Hong Kong residents show dismay and much disappointment to the outcome of the Hostage Drama that took lives of their fellowmen, we Filipinos also feel the same way. We can blame our police force on how they deal with the situation but it should end there. Proper investigation and cooperation with both nations are expected to find justice and answers. Our government is also doing what it can to help the victims.
We apologize to what happened and we deny any form of racial discrimination on the issue that the hostage-taker let the Filipino hostages free and left the HK nationals inside because they are foreigners and are of a different race. We understand that all HKRs are infuriated, enraged, furious and had gone ballistic but this is not a basis for all of you to treat every Filipinos bad. You, HKRs have the right to express what you feel emotionally and sympathize to your fellowmen but you don't have the right to harm and threaten the safety and well being of every Filipino especially those who are in Hong Kong and please do not disrespect our president due to a misunderstood expression for it is not a reason for such acts and name calling. The reaction made by some HKRs seem to be uneducated.
You are a mixed nation of different individuals which makes you a great nation and we can say with no doubt that both our countries are good friends and many Chinese lives, works and do business in our country and so as our people. I personally hope that this crisis will end peacefully and no other individual will get hurt to the healing process.
