Posts about a statement from the Hong Kong government struck Filipino social network users in the Philippines.
The said statement may have came from CNN or BBC, but believed to be a Chain mail to somehow stir panic among the Filipinos.
Here it is:

Amidst fears, Movie Superstar Jackie Chan somehow lightened up Filipinos.
Chan’s twitter account revived friendship between the two countries through his certified twitter account “@EyeOfJakieChan.”
Chan stated that he just arrived from a fans tour in South Korea, and was dismayed after hearing about the hostage crisis last August 23, that killed 8 Hong Kong Nationals who were touring in the country.
"this kind of things always happen around the world. It happen to hk's people, the whole hk is talking about it. Its really sad," the movie star posted the tweet at around 11:40am (Philippine Time) on August 25, 2010.
"If they killed the guy sooner, they will say why not negotiate first? If they negotiate first, they ask why not kill the guy sooner? So sad," he tweeted.
Jackie Chan becomes a peacemaker as he tries to evaluate the situation of Filipinos, and extends friendship among them.
