Who can forget some of the greatest sports endings of all time? Al Michaels with the call of the 1980 Gold Medal Hockey Game USA V The Russians, Vin Scully with Kirk Gibson's HR in 1988, and many more.

The Brooklyn Dodgers were leading the Pennant Race by 13.5 games in 1951. But the Giants came alive, and the Dodgers collapsed to end the season in a tie.

Playoff games were rare then...They only happened if the season ended in a tie. In a three game playoff series, the Giants and Dodgers split the first two games. Then came the pivatol third game...

The Dodgers took a 4 to 1 lead into the bottom of the ninth, and up stepped Mr. Bobby Thompson. He slammed a home run to win the game 5 to 4, and The NY Giants won the pennant at the historic Polo Grounds.

Your announcer is Mr Russ Hodges...And Al Mealey in the Video lol..."Branca throws, there's a long drive, it's going to be, I believe, The Giants win the Pennant! The Giants Win the Pennant! The Giants win the Pennant!"

Ironically, both teams moved to California 7 years later...Mr Bobby Thompson died today August 17, 2010...RIP Mr Thompson!
