The last U.S. brigade combat team in Iraq has left the country, leaving about 56,000 U.S. troops in the country, according to the U.S. military. Their departure comes more than seven years after U.S. combat forces entered, though their departure does not signify the end of all U.S. combat forces in the country (CNN, 22 Aug 2010).
It is hard to think the US military presence is no longer in Iraq when the US government reports that 56,000 soliers are still in Iraq. I guess this is how Mr. Obama can say he met his promise of pulling our troops out of Iraq. My guess is that many of the 56,000 troops will still die in combat regardless of what the politicians call this hostile nation full of terrorist.
As a veterane with more than a dozen combat tours in Iraq, I’ll hold my pictures of our fallen soldiers since the commidians in Washington don’t understand the realities of combat.
