The "mosque" in question is a full two blocks away from ground zero, not even visible from the site, but more importantly why should muslims feel they have to apologize for an attack carried out by a group of radical fundamentalists? I appreciate people's sensitivities on the issue, but what kind of message does this send to the rest of the country and the world? What if a muslim wants to visit ground zero? Is that off-limits too because it might be offensive to the victims of 9/11? How far from Ground Zero should 1st amendment rights start to kick in again? If there's nothing wrong with a having mosques in this country there should be nothing wrong with having one in the relative vacinity of ground zero.
