On September 20, eighty students from more than 25 nations of all continents met at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen for the 3rd World Student Environmental Summit.
The 3rd World Student Environmental Summit provides a platform to ask the right questions and come up with appropriate solutions towards an alternative future. We need fundamental changes in order to reach a sustainable society which cares about the environmental and social needs of present and future generations.
Speeches from renowned national and international experts of science, economy, politics and civil society will address the WSES delegation and create the foundation for a committed, high-level dialogue. A synopsis of the discussion will take the form of a proposal for universities, students and governing politicians.
The 3rd World Student Environmental Summit is supported by acknowledged change agents such as Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, nobel prize laureate and Chair of the IPCC. He has commended the WSES 2010 as an “ideal platform” for the most important stakeholder in climate change: the next generation. The summit’s patron is the former executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Dr. Klaus Töpfe
