I learned from Earth Sky.com that the equinox happened tonight, Wed Sept 23, at 10:09 pm central time. So I took my camera and tripod out to the driveway at exactly 10:09 pm and snapped a few photos of the Harvest Moon.
It was so bright that I could see my own shadow!
I was also able to capture another image of Jupiter as it starts to move away from us. And to wrap it up, it was the first time I could see the Milky Way. What a great night and a wonderful way to begin Fall.
Photo taken from Pensacola Florida and the camera used is a Digital Canon Rebel.
