I've been thinking about this for quite sometime now. But whatever happened to marriage these days? Seems like a huge majority of couples are just moving in together and having kids. Is marriage a thing of the past? I see some talk shows sometimes and see all these couples taking paternity tests to see who the father is, and most of them aren't even married. I remember a few years back when I was dating, friends would say to me, "Hey bro, just have her move in with you to test the waters". I never liked that idea, and I never had any female move in with me. I always believed that when you wanna live together, it's because you wanna get married and be with that person the rest of your life. I've seen friends that I grew up with just move in together and have kids, and then cheat on their spouses only to move in with someone else. What does that do to a childs mind? It confuses the heck out of him/her that's for sure.
I'm not judging anyone who believes in moving in together to test the waters, but where's the romance? I know I'm old fashioned and sometimes I wished I was born in the 1800's because I've seen old movies that show true romance and love stories and getting married because they're in love. But now you see all these brand new romantic movies and most of them show couples just moving in together having kids, and maybe getting married after. This is why I think a lot of these romantic movies are completely sending the wrong message to these generation of people. I always hear that, it's best to not get married and to just move in, but I disagree. Call me boring and old fashioned, but I do believe in romance, dating and marriage...
