The first punches of the "Class Wars" have been thrown. Obama, Biden, and Democrats are punching back...finally Obama refuses to continue to allow the GOP to frame this important debate. Whom has the right to govern- those that caused the economic crisis or those that are fixing it?
"Same old story..same old song and dance, my friend.."Remember the song? Americans had better remember! Otherwise, we'll be destined to repeat the same mistakes that lead us into the economic crisis we're all still experiencing -that is, all but the wealthy and the corporate elite the the GOP actually represent.
This "new" plan, to undo the last two years of Obama's progressive agenda by the GOP isn't for American workers' benefit. It's all about them..again and their real constituents- the wealthy and corporations.
Republicans have convinced many Americans that "less is more- less taxes, less government and less regulations.
"Let's not stand in the way of job creators by burdening them with endless regulations", say the GOP. "These are the people we need to create jobs".
Have they created jobs now? Will they? Maybe they'll "lift the ransom they've held on jobs, after the GOP takes control again of Congress.
What will we actually have less of, under Republican control? Remember what happened before? Less freedoms, more spending on wars and tax cuts that we couldn't afford. Responsible leadership or cronyism?
The trade off is GOP control and less regulations for American jobs. But these jobs will pay less..you'll earn less so corporations can make more- just like before. Less for us, and more for them. Clever way to spin an agenda, isn't it?
This slight of hand trick seems to be working for the Republican Tea Party like the Jedi mind trick did on the weak-minded in Star Wars.
The GOP are no Jedi masters. On the contrary. Can you say that the GOP are the Sith Lords? Less is better for the subjects of their Empire.
Watch the GOP "work their magic" after they regain control of Congress in November if that's what voters allow them to do.
Poof! Rights will disappear, Poof! Less money for domestic projects and infrastructure. Poof! Less jobs- outsourcing will continue. Magic!
The GOP's agenda, their "Contract on American worker's" will work like magic..for the wealthy. What do they have in mind for American unemployed workers and those struggling to make ends meet now?
De-leveraging. Hey, less is better..less is more. "Change "you can have less with. Some Americans are buying it..again.
The GOP plan will lead to more for the wealthy. Why aren't the GOP asking the rich and corporations to do with less?
"You over spent, owe to much and didn't need that size house anyway, did you? Yes, less will be more for Republicans true constituents- the wealthy and corporate America.
More profits for health care companies that can again drop you. More profit for banks whom can again gamble with your money and charge higher fees. More wars, because war is profitable.
After GOP bailed out the banks with TARP, the reaction of this Party's ruling class here and in other countries throughout the world has been to demand austerity, wage cuts and the destruction of social programs.
Remember Hank Paulson's "The sky is falling" speech?
Should the middle-class tax cuts be a bargaining chip, a pawn in the GOP's ongoing jihad to reward wealth over work?
President Obama and most Democrats say no. Today, Obama began to fight. They punched back and reminded Americans who started the problems.
The American working class will enter into struggles. They will not accept the destruction of their jobs and living conditions without a fight.
In 2010, Republicans choose not to know anything about public policy, can't engage in an honest debate, reflexively oppose anything Democrats support (including GOP ideas), and reject responsibility for the spectacular failures they created while in the majority.
The fact is that it's not really irresponsible Republicans that are the problem. In fact, the Republicans are only opportunists looking for any means to regain dominance over the nation.
The true problem is an electorate that is so easily persuaded by their easy-to-swallow, simplistic lies.
As long as Republicans are more successful than Democrats in telling the masses of ill-informed Americans what they want to hear, it is the Republicans that will control the country.
The Republicans, on the other hand, have honed their economic message: Denial, Delay, Do Nothing.
"We're going to go through a process of de-leveraging," Sanford said. "And it will be painful. The question is, do we apply a bunch of different Band-Aids that lengthen and prolong this pain or do we take the Band-Aid off? I believe very strongly: Let's get this thing over with, let's not drag it on."
Sounds like the GOP will be there to "take American workers' back, doesn't it? NOT!
The seductive part of their plan is the one more familiar to the public -- constantly talk about what the people want to hear.
No more taxes. Defend the country. Go Conservatives. Minimal government.
Republican politicians make appeals to "conservative values", and used cultural issues such as gay marriage, abortion, and religion to mobilize their base.
It's blatantly obvious that the long term Republican agenda is to sabotage this Democratic administration so successfully as to make it appear responsible for all the failures of the Bush administration while simultaneously preventing this administration from accomplishing anything on its own merit, even to the detriment of the good of this nation.
Many of the middle class that support the GOP believe they are "in" with the big boys. All the big boys are interested in for now, is getting their vote..later, it will be their money for higher fees from banks and health care companies. Some people never learn, do they? Remember, less is more. Less for us and more for them.
The GOP and their corporate buddies will be laughing at GOP supporters..all the way to the bank. Instead of "staying the course" and persevering, they're ready to hand our country back to those that lead us into the problems we all have now.
What do you think? Are you buying the "new branding" of a tired economic plan" the GOP has put forward. Are some that gullible?
