   Dated 9/22/2010 NATIONAL DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY SET FOR SATURDAY, 10 AM TO 2 PM Drop Box located in front of Sheriff's C.I.D. Building on 8th Street Front view of Drop Box (will have identification markings added)      As a follow-up to the very successful “ Operation Drop Off ” that was held on July 24 th , the Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the “ National Take-Back Day ” on  Saturday, September 25 th  from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.    This is a national effort involving state and local agencies to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets.     The National Take-Back Day  provides an opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction.    These drugs are a potential source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to children and to public health and safety.    This one day national effort is intended to bring national focus to the issue of increasing pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.  To listen to a radio announcement concerning this event, click   (HERE).         Research has shown that Arkansas has the worst teen prescription pain reliever abuse problem in
