Around 7:30 tonight in Quitman Georgia a loud Explosion was heard. Minutes later fire companies were toned out to Langboard Inc just off of highway 84 about 4 miles from Downtown Quitman. Large plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the mill and arriving 1stResponders reported people refusing to leave the building. Arrival of the first engine companied confirmed that their were people refusing to leave the building. At least five fire companies were called in to help battle the blaze. Early reports state the the explosion did come from the building. it is unknown at this time what actually may have exploded. At one point during the blaze firefighter evacuated the building. Firefighters battle to try to keep the blaze form consuming the main building. Langboard is a company that provides wood products and services.
