Fire fighters miraculously saved dozens of homes in serious danger in Herriman Utah from a fire started on the machine gun range at Camp Williams. Fueled by winds gusting up to 50 miles-per-hour, the fire quickly descended upon homes in the lower benches of the mountain. Explosions from propane tanks and other gas lines in the area added to the intensity of the blaze. These and other homes were saved due to the courageous efforts of our fire fighters. This helps shows what our brave fire fighters are up against when they fight to save lives and property. Nobody was seriously injured in the fire and only 3 homes were burned even though early estimates pointed to more than a dozen homes being burned. The number of homes spared is amazing when it could have been so much worse.
