Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has opened his speech at the UN Millennium Development Goals Summit with a call on world powers to abandon their undemocratic decisions.

In an address to the world body on Tuesday, the Iranian chief executive said that such decisions were “the root of most problems men are faced with in today's world.”

Ahmadinejad stressed that the "restoration of justice" in the world requires "honest management," echoing his earlier calls on the UN to allow nations to play a more active role in global affairs.

"Those who only seek their own interests into consideration will never be able to bring justice and prosperity to the world," he said.

The Iranian president further said, “The first decade of the millennium was named the decade of peace by the General Assembly, but unfortunately, it was full of war, occupation, massacre and poverty,” he added.

He called for the second decade of the millennium to be named “'The Joint Management of World Affairs by the UN.”

“This millennium should be dedicated to efforts for establishing a new order and an honest management in the world and its centers of power,” he said.

Iran has repeatedly criticized Western powers for hampering nuclear negotiations with the imposition of UN Security Council and unilateral sanctions against the country despite the Tehran nuclear fuel swap declaration.

Iran, Turkey and Brazil signed the Tehran nuclear fuel swap declaration to ease nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 -- the five permanent UNSC members plus Germany -- and outline Iran's demands.

On Monday, Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said the UN nuclear agency's last report on the country was "unfair."

"Despite all this cooperation that has been extended by Iran, unfortunately we feel the last report was not fair and was not justified," Salehi said after attending the 54th General Conference of the IAE in Vienna.
