Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Who Cares?

What's the big deal of the DADT debate in the military? It's no mystery that gays are everywhere. We have gay republicans, gay democrats, gay politicians, gay movie stars/actresses, gay musicians, gay athletes, and gay teachers. The majority of all these are out and about. Do gays really think this is an important issue in the military, when we have wars fighting right now? Don't we have more important things to worry about these days? I had to ask a few friends of mine who are in the military and they said that it's easy to spot a gay/lesbian soldier. Not because they have special powers, but because a lot of them knew and really didn't care.

I can't speak for those who are currently in the military or have been in the military, but in my opinion, I say let the troops vote on this. Why? because they are the ones putting their lives at risk. I'm sure many don't have a problem serving with an openly gay/lesbian soldier, but I'm also sure that many soldiers do have a problem with it. If some soldiers are gonna have a problem with an openly gay soldier then maybe it is best to keep the DODT. Why have violence between soldiers if they wont be able to get along? In a perfect world there'd be no discrimination, there'd be no DADT, but we're not in a perfect world, and some things cannot be forced to change just because some people are overly sensitive than others.

Let's remember that these men and woman gay/straight chose to join the military to fight for our country. The LGBT needs to quit stirring up these issues while we have much more important things to worry about.

If we were living in a perfect world, we'd all be eating cookies and milk at 3:00pm everyday.
