I was visiting my sister in Vermont when I heard the news on the radio, see, my sister doesn't believe in having a television for some reason. I was alone in the house as everyone had gone shopping. When I heard the news, I had goosebumps for quite awhile and my head just couldn't comprehend what I heard. I have been a Royal Family watcher since I was a little girl, maybe because Queen Elizabeth was born the same day (not year) as I was. I walked around the house in a stupor, like I wasn't even on this planet. All I could think about was William and Harry losing their beautiful mother. When my sister and her family returned home I ran out to their car and they asked ME if I had heard the news.
I was to be in Vermont for a few more days and I wanted to see the funeral. So, my sister and her husband borrowed a televison from a neighbor. I got up, it must have been around 3am or 4am, to watch the funeral. My little nieces came down the stairs and watched with me, I don't know how they even knew it was going to be on but that was so very special to me to have them want to see something so important. We watched in total silence.
