Y verás cómo quieren en Chile al amigo cuando es forastero…

My name is Paola and I’m a full time student and part time worker. I work at the Arturo Merino Benitez airport, Santiago, as a shop assistant in a gift shop...

This has been an amazing experience for me. I’ve learned so much  there and I’ve improved my English skills  because of the interaction that I have had with foreign people; but more significantly, I think I’ve become a more tolerant and patient person...

As the title of this report says, Chilean people are so welcoming and kind to foreigners but mainly with "gringos".

What’s the reason for that?

I have no clue, but it could be for their language or appearances...

blond hair and blue eyes are not common here, so they can’t go unnoticed...

I included some  images of the damaged caused by the earthquake we had in Feb. 2010...

Students' assignment:

"Chile from a young people's perspective"
