Many people are self-employed. Sometimes, they work illegally because they must pay the municipality a "permission" each month...
An example of street trading is in the "comuna" of Providencia, Santiago.
They sell all kinds of stuff, such as bobby pins, hair ties, scarves, sunglasses, earrings, fruit and vegetables. We can see women reading tarot cards as well...
These things they are selling are useful... they are always outside of the "metro" and accessible to our daily routines.
I couldn’t take more pictures, because when I was taking them a person approached me... I guess he was one of the workers and told me: "Don’t take more photos, unless you want "them" to take it away"...
I got scared, so I just left. I know that they are working illegally but it’s a decent job they aren’t offending anyone and congratulations to them to choose "a very brave job"...
