HHS Chief Kathleen Sebelius cautioned Health Insurers with the upcoming rate increases. Ms. Sebelius said some insurers were notifying their enrollees that their insurance premiums were increasing as a result of Obamacare. Some insurers will increase their coverage by 20% starting this month and attributing 1-9% to Obamacare mandates.
For young families like my daughter and son-in-law what does this mean? First, my son-in-law has an excellent job in Arizona as a computer programmer for a large News Paper.
Already, thanks to Obamacare, since my daughter is type-1 diabetic, my son-in-law had to drop his medical and dental coverage and only carry medical and dental coverage for my daughter.
In other words, thanks to Obamacare, my son-in-law can only afford insurance coverage for his wife and carry no coverage for himself. Since Obamacare will penalize my son-in-law for not having coverage, I guess I will pay the penalty since it is what the Massachusetts Medical Plan does as well.
My son-in-laws now pays over a third of his monthly salary for Obamacare for his wife. What happens when he is forced to enroll in a medical and dental plan that he cannot afford?
In order to help my daughter and son-in-law, my wife and I have to pay for all my daughters co-payments (increased $10 to $50 since Obama took office), all lab works (increased between 20% since Obama took office), and all medications (increased between 15-40% since Obama took office).
What worries my wife and I am what happens if I become unemployed or pass away? Will Obamacare help my family? Probably not!!!
