A log home that has been in the local family for about 40 years is now gone. On a nice warm sunny day around 3:12 pm the notice of smoke comming from 318 Rosevale Road in Grand Junction, Colorado sparked a dash to the house and a frantic call to 911. An off duty police officer and his wife just happened to be driving by when they had noticed the start of the blaze. The unknown couple were the first to call emrgency crew while ensuring no one was inside. Little by littel the understanding of the recent renter was out of town and away at work when the fire struck his home. The man who rented the home has not been named. What is known about the resident is that he recently moved in with his son about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it looks like the home is a total loss. Police and fire crew were on the scene up until around 11:00 pm to ensure the structure fire was completely out. What caused the fire to start is unknown at this time. A complete and full investigation is underway. It is a sad day for all the families involved.
