They all believe in the same God, but after that, there are many differences. Christians believe that mankind was created specifically to have a relationship with God, but sin separates all men from God. Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ walked this earth, fully God, and yet fully man, was crucified and resurrected.
Muslims and Jews believe differently. Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, and they believe in the teachings of Muhammad who In the seventh century, Muhammad claimed the angel Gabriel visited him. During these angelic visitations, which continued for about 23 years until Muhammad's death, the angel purportedly revealed to Muhammad the words of Allah (which in Arabic, the word for “God” used by Muslims). These dictated revelations compose the Qur'an, Islam's holy book. Islam means “submission,” deriving from a root word that means “peace.” The word muslim means “one who submits to Allah.”...
Jews believe God does exist and that God is one and unique. Jesus failed in their eyes, to do what they expected their Messiah to do—destroy evil and all their enemies and establish an eternal kingdom with Israel as the preeminent nation in the world. The prophecies in Isaiah and Psalm 22 described a suffering Messiah who would be persecuted and killed, but they chose to focus instead on those prophecies that discussed His glorious victories, not His crucifixion. The Jews believed that the Messiah, the prophet which Moses spoke about, would come and deliver them from Roman bondage and set up a kingdom where they would be the rulers...
However many people continue to judge these 3 faiths. Many say that Muslims are terrorists, and that Christians are evil and judgmental people. 911 happened in the name of Islam, and there is no need to try and deny those facts. It may have been done in the name of Islam, but I'd like to believe that those who did those terrorists acts are but a small percentage that believed that it was their duty in the name of Islam. Not all Muslims agreed with them and they we're very hurt by those terrorist acts. Is it fair to say that all muslims support terrorism? I don't think so. I believe many muslims rather find some sort of peace and love in their faith rather than violence. What is the job of the muslim religion? Their job is to try and convert as many people as they can, because they believe their religion is the only right religion. Don't believe me? Go buy a Qur'an and read it yourself...
If a group of christians protest at abortion clinics, or at gay and lesbian events, is it fair to say all christians are the same? No it's not, because not all christians feel the need to just pick and choose as they please. What is the job of a christian? According to scripture it is to spread the gospel to every nation in the world, peacefully and never forcefully. Do all christians do that? No, but many do...
A lot of people are quick to judge and ridicule Israel because they as a country have defended themselves from terrorism. But by defending themselves, a lot of innocent people have been killed. But that's what comes when defending a country. How many innocent civilians have been killed by our very own military? So in closing I would like to ask this question. Should one religion be respected and favored more than the other? No, because since they all believe in the same God, all religions should be respected the same as the rest.
There will always be a handful or two of radicals from each religion, but that should not be the reason to say that everyone is like that. One more thing, not everyone who follow these 3 faiths, actually follow or believe everything that is written in their book, but then again, many do...
