I was born in the US but spent my Summers in Colombia. I love Colombia. To love and know Colombia is to know that it has a beautiful country side, it is industrial, it is romantic, and it is religious/spirtual. The pictures that I have attached were from my last trip to Colombia in 2005. I plan to travel back soon, but it won't be soon enough.
1. This is depicts the industrial side, the view from a coal mines in Samaca
2-6. Villa de Leiva is a colonial town and municipality, in the Boyaca department of Colombia. The architecture is romantic, the streets cobblestone, and the artesanias locally made.
7. The spritiual side of Colombia. This picture was taken in the Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira, which is an underground Catholic church built within the tunnels of a salt mine 200 meters underground. The church is near the town of Zipaquira in Cundinamarca.
