Technology is highly developed in the 21st century. Numerous technologies which were previously unimaginable have been created from the laboratory. That was really incredible. However, people’s heart have become complex and have forgotten God’s grace. In the 63rd United Nations DPI/NGO Annual Conference, amazing grace has befallen Melbourne. The Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) and Baltic Sea Forum co-hosted a seminar on the morning of September 1st, at the 63rd United Nations DPI/NGO Annual Conference in Melbourne, Australia. After ringing the Bell of World Love and Peace, Ms. Biannca D. Pace, Chairperson of Ministry for Peace Australia, was filled with gratitude and said “What kind of gift is it? Is it from God?” On the same day another person who rang the bell was Mr. Biswajit (Bob) Ganguly, the President of Noble Institution for Environmental Peace. He really appreciated to have the opportunity to ring the bell and make the wish “The world will begin to change when mankind has the concept of environmental balance. May the world filled with love and peace!”
There was no empty space in the seminar and participants enthusiastically discussed and talked beyond the scheduled time. , Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the Honorary Vice President and member of Advisor Board of AWC UN/NGO, President of the Federation of World Peace and Love, and Zhang-men-ren of Tai Ji Men, presented the essay "The march towards global health in 2010 - spiritual health and prosperous world" at this symposium. In his speech, he pointed out that people’s fear in this century and the unhealthy community are due to the emptiness and anxiety in people’s heart. Dr. Hong, who has insight into the world and is a master in yin-and-Yang philosophy of Tai Ji, proposed a solution “Heart is the origin of all. Wisdom can soothe one’s spiritual health” and the key to wealth and prosperity for international community is "Fair and just natural rights based on the people and the rule of law. Let us pay attention to and protect human rights". Dr. Hong’s appeal received unanimous support and response from participants of the 63rd United Nations DPI/NGO Annual Conference.
The environment of our world changes swiftly. Tens of thousands of lives perished easily in the countless natural and man-made disasters. Last month 17 million people suffered from the large flood in Pakistan. It is both alarming and saddening. Many major issues emerged among nations and the panic from people actually affected the earth. While the NGO annual conference was in session, many natural and man-made disasters around the world have been reported. For the participants, the significance of the annual conference is having the conference at the "Center of the World." When our mind and emotion are aware of the storms around the world, it encourages people around the world with ideals to act proactively in promoting love and peace and the respect for human rights. It is the same as Dr. Hong’s philosophy of "The world citizens must fight for their own future".
“The Bell of World Peace and Love” has travelled around five continents under the escort of "World Peace and Love Cultural Goodwill Group” in the past ten years. This year marks the return of Bell of World Peace and Love to Australia. Many NGO leaders attended the ceremony of ringing the Bell. A total of 52 bell-ringers in three days, including Mary Norton, Chairman of this Annual Conference, and a number of United Nations officials and ambassadors, rang the Bell and the positive energy of good hearts and good intentions have been consolidated to move the world.
The Cultural Goodwill Group composed of members from Association of World Citizens, Federation of World Peace and Love, and Tai Ji Men held 10 plus seminars of Human Rights for World Citizens, in addition to attending the annual conference. Many participants attended the seminars and widely discussed and exchanged ideas of protecting human rights and safeguarding earth. Bell-ringers expressed the utmost honors, privileges and gratitude when ringing the Bell. More than 100 people participated in the "2010 World Summit of Love and Peace for World Citizens" at Crowne Plaza Melbourne and discussed how NGOs can work together to cement actions and achieve global solidarity from perspectives of abolish of wars, environmental protections and national systems.
