Any one who has a basic knowledge of history knows that symbolic actions have lead to a great many conflicts that in turn have lead to a great amount of death and destruction. By burning the Qur'an Pastor Terry Jones may be appeasing what to him and his followers is an an angry vengeful God but in truth he is only reenforcing the views of those who think all Americans are Crusaders intent on converting the world to Christianity. Although his intentions may be based upon his percieved views of a reality in which all Muslems are some how responsible for all the evils that have ever tormented the human race Pastor Jones is in truth an example of the true greatest evil on this planet, Ignorance. Blaming all of Islam for the events that occured on September 11th 2001 makes about as much sense as blaming all Christians for the Bombing in Oklahoma city or for that matter all groups of related individuals for the acts of one lone member. I'll admit I'm not the most devout Catholic but I do believe that there is good and evil in this world. The Pastors symbolic act regardless of his true intentions will only give those who already want to destroy our nation more ammunition, set back any advancements we've made in the Muslem world and endanger the lives of not only those serving in the military but relief workers, humanitarian organizations and the stability of our nation as a whole. The symbolic act of one man is enough to jepordize the lives of millions. As a far as my not so subtle shot at the Republicans ( no I don't think they're affiliated with the Devil) goes as long as they continue to prevent our country from moving forward by sitting on their hands and waiting until they're in charge so they can do even less then they have so far they are as guilty of endangering our nation by their inaction as Jones is by his action. I am however happy to see some Republicans coming forward to say something even if it is still an excuse to talk about the Islamic Community Center (Non Gound Zero Non Mosque). Burning Qur'ans Evil, Building Community Center to promote peace and understanding Good, what's so hard to understand?
