The Iraqi Affection

There are no words to express how the war in Iraq has affected my life.  We have had a few deployments back to back in our family. My husband is a United States Marine that has tirelessly given his time to the uniform.  He goes abroad when he is called, and aspires to get the job done at hand. Birthdays, Holidays, First Loose Tooth and First Talent show were missed by my husband as he dedicatedly gave his time for a society that is so ready to see our men and women in uniform vacate their country.  News flash, our men and women are ready to leave.

When the war started it was about liberating a country and taking down a tyrant.  Also weapons of mass destruction that people claim don't exist.  Quite frankly, unless you have above  aTop Secret clearance you can't speak intelligently about this war because you aren 't equipped with every fact.

It is definitely time for our boys to depart.  They have changed the lives of Iraqis in a postive way as I have heard from many Marines that have come home from deployment, and the pictures of grateful Iraqi's speak volumes as well.   Ofcourse the media likes to paint a picture of certain brutality that has serged throughout Iraq and to its prisoners.  War changes people.  It makes them come outside of their body and become someone completely different. Truly not for society to judge as they were not there, and do not have all of the facts.  It amazes me how our casualties were not given the exposure that they deserved, but mistreatment of Iraqi detainees brought a congressional meeting.  Where is the line between insanity and humanity drawn?  The Iraq war made the line quite obviously biased, and not on the side of our men and women in uniform.

Thanks to our men and women in the armed services, Iraqi's can finally complain about their treatment without ridicule or consequence. They can speak freely for the first time in at least a decade.  The Iraqi's are ready to see our men and women in uniform go because they are ready for their own order.  I just hope it will not be the One World Order.

I hope that the U.S. and Iraq never forget the sacrifices on both ends that have been made for a war that the U.S. didn't ask for, but yet came to the rescue once again.  Instead of asking for a handout, we would like for the Iraqi's to just say "thanks".  That is the dichotomy of the "Iraqi affection".  That is my honesty, frustration, and sadness expressed fully and honestly.  I am glad we are pulling out! My husband is currently deployed as we speak.  It is time for my husband to come home to serve his country, his Corps, and his God.  Yes I said God.  It is a free country right?  If we hadn't taken him out of every element of this country we wouldn't have been in the war in Iraq, and probably not dealing with Afghanistan.  So this comment is relevant!  Take that for what you will!
