As most viewers know, I have followed this case from the beginning, as a female 17 year old high school student from my neighborhood was abducted - and killed - with her body being found 3 miles away in a open field in July of this year.
The killing shocked this city of 200,000 that is located about 80 miles east of Los Angeles, CA. The monster remains on the loose, but now there could be an alleged "Person of Interest" in the crime. But is there a real suspect?
The man once worked at Norma's high school, and he was arrested for alleged solicitation of a prostitute last year in our sister city, Riverside CA.
The person lived at home with his stepparents, right down the street from the crime scene. And, a green SUV was impounded in the garage - if you recall, a witness did see a green truck speeding from where Norma was abducted.
However, no suspect has yet been named. The community is actually hoping this is not the suspect, how could he do the dirty deed - and still live so close to the location where Norma was killed? Why, if this is him, did he not flee the area?
I still feel the crime was committed by a stranger, we do not want the killer to be one of our own in our community. Hopefully the suspect does not live in our area...
So we continue to pray the madman will be found, and the FBI and City are still offering a $35,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of her murderer...
