Sungazing is a meditative practice that involves staring directly at the Sun for short periods of time during sunrise or sunset. Some practitioners ascribe a range of health and spiritual benefits from the practice, including a reduced need to eat, healing from illnesses, and increased energy. The practice is controversial because of the common wisdom we've all heard: Don't look at the Sun, it's bad for your eyes.
Shot during beautiful sunrises on the East River of New York City, the video explores one practitioner's experience with Sungazing. Featuring Daniel Giel. Produced by Sandy Chase.
