What ever happened to freedom of religion?

I am amazed at how hypocritical some people are. They want to preach about things they say go against the things our constitution guarantees us but then they have the nerve to put our President down for saying that Muslims should have the right to build a mosque on private property near ground zero. One of the main principles our country was founded on was the freedom to practice any religion freely & openly. I understand the emotions that people are feeling about this and I'm not saying its the smartest decision to build this mosque there but its their right. This mosque will be built on private property and won't even be visible from ground zero. All religions have radicals and all muslims are not bad people just as all Christians aren't bad. There have been plenty of Christians that have committed heinous crimes against Americans. Muslims should have the right to build their mosgue anywhere they want just as Christians have the right to build their churches where they want. People really need to stop operating with such a double standard.
