In Chile, every Friday or Saturday night young people enjoy going out to parties and spend time with friends.
Before going out, it is common to gather at someone’s house to eat some snacks and have some drinks. This gathering is called “la previa.”
Some typical snacks may include potato chips, cookies or peanuts, while some popular drinks are vodka, rum, pisco and beer...
Young people are allowed to buy alcohol and cigarettes at the age of 18.
After the “la previa”, people usually go out to a night club or discotheque and dance all night long...
Most clubs and discos close at around 4 or 5 in the morning.
The best well known discotheques are “Murano”, “Las hurracas”, “Kmazu Club” and “Arte Matta”.
These discos are located in La Plaza San Enrique, Manuel Montt, Suecia and Bellavista.
Many young Chileans like to go out to bars or pubs instead of going to the discotheque.
In my case, I like to have fun with my friends and we enjoy going out to the discotheques and the bars. However, I prefer pubs because we can speak about “life” and eat snack food. My favorite dish is French fries with cheese...
