Following monsoon rains that have unleashed the worst flooding in Pakistan in 80 years, International Medical Corps continues to support displaced people through 6 mobile medical units serving the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KPK) in the northwest. To date, the organization has conducted over 6,400 health consultations.
International Medical Corps is also providing psychosocial support including teaching local coping mechanisms to help those whose lives have been devastated by the floods. The psychosocial counselor in these photos is providing Early Childhood Development Activities which include communal play groups and safe spaces which are according to the IASC Guidelines for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings. The activities include sharing of jokes, singing songs and reciting poems, along with games to lessen the negative impact that the floods may have on the children
