Vow...today India celebrated the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the centre figure of epic Mahabharat.
The videos are festive scene at Thane city near Mumbai with an ocean of human crowd under light and sought effects, laser shows watching the MOST EXCITING Human Pyramid show.
Hundreds of teams failed .. but these narrowly failed..
go ahead.... we are with you.. they said but they tumbled down.
To mark this celebration all over India there is a play called Dahi Handi (dahi in Hindi means curd, and Handi in Hindi means pot) which is hanged up on the rope to a height of over 50-60 feets and there are youth groups called Govinda Groups and they take up the challenge of claiming huge prize money .. they form a human pyramid (it happens only in Mumbai, the daredavil city) in layer of some 100-150 strongmen who form human platform in circular shape and above them 8 strongest men form circular and above them second layer they are formed with four and above them 3 and above them 2 and above them depending on their skill one plus one plus one (human platform as base + 8 pillars + 4 men walls + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 +1 ). This is the Human pyramid specification .. even if you take size of men average as 5 feet the total height of the human pyramid works out to 5 ft x 8 layers = 40 ft + the base height of human foundation 6 feet .. so about 45 ft plut raised portion of the hand of tip top person another 2 feet.. in all it works out to 50 ft height .. SEE all in video and enjoy and forward and share his unique festival and entertainment in the busiest metro, Mumbai...today at 10 pm night.
All over Mumbai and in the state of Maharashtra Lord Krishna's birth festival is celebrated like this in other parts of the India there is only rituals and worship and spiritual programme.. in Mumbai it reaches peak or height of 50 ft.. the tallest human pyramid which touches the Pot filled with curt (dahi handi) wins max prize. In western suburb I saw a banner claiming to reward the winner Indian Rs.11,00,000 (Rs.1.1 million) . These videos was shot at a venue which awarded two cash prizes of Rs.111,000 second prize who created 7 layer pyramid and first prize went to 8 layer pyramid system the prize money was Rs.111,111 won by Hanuman Youth Group, Kurla a central suburb of Mumbai.
YES... there was a women youth group which formed six layer pyramid and target was little lower than men and they won Rs.11,000 cash prize.
Many national TV channels flashed the show including IBN-CNN Marathi (local language channel).
There was lazer show (see video). when the challengers won the prize by touching the target there was wavving celebration by pumping out water thru a high horse power pump touching the sky and merrying people.
HUMAN PYRAMIC: It requires delicate skills practice, yoga, excercise, high spirited concettration amidst ocean of men and women surrounded them.. quite often the fail to reach target and fall (few years ago when I was worrking in a hospital I witnessed atleast six people admitted aftter fracture) so they take utmost care. Only one attempt allowed. '
BREATHTAKING .. though the flash human pyramid is formed in less than two min as they cannot bear the load and balance for long.. it is truly breathtaking or breathholding scene.
