It seems nowadays people pay more attention to someone's spelling, grammar, or politically correct use of words rather than to the content of what a person is saying, to the idea or thought the person is trying to get across to us. Focusing on a miss spelled word, poor grammar, or the choice of wording is the act of the narrow minded, or petty type of individual. There are people out there just waiting to pounce on the smallest infraction, just waiting to make a mountain out of a mole hill! Sad to say even the news media climbs on this same band wagon to create some controversy to report on.
Recently, my husband left this site over and incident of politically correct wording, you may have known him as Rondoe. Ron became enraged to put it mildly that his military service was brought into question simpley because he referred to himself as a Vietnam "era" vet as opposed to calling himself just a Vietnam vet, to make a distinction between himself and vets from the WWII or Korean war era. It was quickly brought to my husband's attention his military service was now questionable because he inserted the word "era" instead of just saying Vietnam veteran, Which in some circles of thought has more political correctness and importance than the other when it comes to a person's military service.
Beware of the thought police!! Be very careful "What you say, and how you say it!" One miss spelled word, poor use of grammar, or politically incorrect choice of word use makes you fair game to be pounced upon and a target for mindless ridicule from the narrow minded... who cares about the idea or importance of what you were trying to convey, that's become totally lost in the frenzy to make something out of nothing, to make something unimportant into a major issue while what really matters is lost in the shuffle. It appears more and more Americans can't see the forest for all the trees in the way... it's no wonder this country can't seem to get anything done anymore when we are to busy sweating the small stuff!
