The remembrance march began at 3pm in Victoria Park on Sunday, August 29th 2010, and an estimated 100,000 people participated in the demonstration which ended in Chater Garden, Central.
A 3-minute moment of silence marked the beginning of the memorial ceremony at Victoria Park, followed by brief speeches by various governmental officials and political party leaders.
A few main avenues and roads from Causeway Bay to Central were blocked off for the tens of thousands of participants on their long walk.
Participants donned yellow ribbons in memory of the 8 Hong Kong hostages who died during the peaceful march. Filipino organizations and migrant unions also hosted various demonstrations expressing their grief for the victims and their disappointment with the Filipino government.
