Romain Zago's MYNT, Miami - It was a friday night at 3 a.m. when Pete Tong introduced David Guetta and Deadmau5 during the Winter Music Conference in 2009. Under the same roof was Tatiana Fontes, Cedric Gervais, Sultan, and Erick Morillo. The timing could not have been any more perfect for these talented Artist. Technology was developing under a rapid pace as the Pacemaker, Native Instruments Traktor, Pioneer, and Apple were releasing new products that would change the way House Music would be played at Clubs and Festivals.

This was a time when nobody knew who these young DJ/Producer's were. A lot has change however in one year. David Guetta, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia (Axwell, Angello, and Ingrosso), Cedric Gervais, Sultan, and Tatiana Fontes, are becoming household names world wide just as any other performer.

So what has changed? For one thing Native Instruments Traktor has opened up their technology to Apple iTunes and soon to follow Beatport. Richie Hawtin, a.k.a. Plastikman, also has embraced Native Instruments Traktor and has taken his acts one step further with on-stage collaborations with a group of DJ's playing at once on stage networked to one main computer. He has also developed the first DJ iTunes app that sends out tweets of the tracks your playing in real time. This real time networking is opening the doors for Pioneer, Native Instruments, Ableton, and Apple to a new industry of performers and instant uploads, tracklists in real time, and instant downloads of a DJ sets the minute a DJ is done performing.

Apple still leads the way in DJ podcasting and Beatport is leading the way in club dance music downloads. DJ Bad Boy Bill, who was one of the first pioneers credited with being the first Chicago DJ to produce legally licensed mixes and created Mix Connection Multimedia (MCM) in 1995 to not only produce legally licensed mixes, but to serve as an umbrella company for several side projects and record labels which would eventually lead the way for Beatport today.

This years International Music Summit also gave a glimpse into how big the movement has become as Activision's development of DJ Hero took center stage as they prepared for the new release of DJ Hero 2 featuring Tiesto, David Guetta and Deadmau5. From just a year ago in the DJ booth at Mynt, Miami and now front and center in your living room as a video game, House Music, has transcended new boundaries and opened the doors for younger kids to learn about these DJ/Producers.

Pete Tong asked Erick Morillo, "So where is the center of the universe for House Music?" Erick responded, Ibiza is the center of the universe. When asked why, Erick Morillo, a well known DJ/Producer of house music and creator of Subliminal Records, states a track can be played in Ibiza and be heard here to people from all over the world, because Ibiza is one of the most multinational places for music in the world. Erick also stated that Las Vegas very soon will be another main spot for internationally famous DJ's to play at during the year. With only a few days left until Labor day, Tao Las Vegas and Wet Republic, are leading the way with acts with Bad Boy Bill, Boris, Tatiana Fontes, Erick Morillo, Diddy, Cedric Gervais, Funkagenda, Serge Devant, Will I Am, and Sharam. It's no surprise that 2010 Las Vegas has already captured the attention of many already in and around the industry.
