Today I spent some time at the local veterans Healing Field thinking about Landis and the many others that have served this country in it's times of need..
Landis was one of the Firefighters at my Fire Department and a friend. I think of Landis often and miss his presence everyday.
Landis was not only a Firefighter but also a Police officer, having just started his career when his Unit was called to duty.
His smile and humor are missed by all of us that knew him. His absence leaves a void that we cannot fill.
As time passes we find the pain of his loss eases, but know it will never be gone.
There are so many memories and stories they could overwhelm this small space.
Suffice it to say we will never let the memory of Landis fade amoung those of us that worked and had fun with him, and pass the stories to the new people that never got the chance to know him.
As a song once said "life is a collection of memories and memories are like starlite they go on forvever."
