Feijoada’s origin dates back to the 16th century, with the slaves’ introduction in Brazil.African ethnic culinary culture had the basic bean stew, the Portuguese added the linguica(sausage)and farofa (toasted manioc flour) by the Indians, thus producing a “heavy”dish which gave the slaves needed energy to last long, the feijoada. This popular dish somewhat connect Brazil to Nigeria (Africa).
And as for my connection to any of these two countries,I have developed close ties with Brazil. Most of my friends in language school are Brasileiros. Estou aprendendo Português, porque eu gosto de ir lá. Visite meus amigos no Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Goiás e Belo Horizonte. Este é um grande país.
