Feds Say They Reviewed Iowa DHS

In a recent story found in the Cedar Rapids Gazette in Iowa. According to the story the Department of Health and Human Services took 65 cases at random and spoke to the people, the courts, judges, and case workers. The story goes on to report that Iowa is doing better but still doesn't meet standards.

As a resident of Iowa I can guarantee you President Obama's HHS Secretary and their review of states is on its face a farce.

Documentation can be provided to show the following.

A woman in 1996 submits an affidavit to the court, during a divorce case, where she admits to holding a loaded weapon on a father with their child between them. DHS never gets involved. The court never refers the woman for prosecution. The father in that incident later does something similar and gets 7 years in prison.

In 1999 the woman lets her children wander through their neighborhood and they are found destroying property. A finding of Denial of Critical Care is found. When a worker shows up to talk to the mother she is next door leaving kids, including and infant, alone in the home. The mother, is in the wrong, no question of that. The worker goes on to report that the house the mother was at was 250 feet away. A Google Earth map shows the two houses share a common driveway and front door to front door is 68 feet.

Later the woman assaults her husband with a hot cup of coffee. A woman from DHS shows up. A report is made and the father is included in being found guilty of abuse by Denial of Critical Care. The reports clearly show that the father "pushed" his attacker away. Only pushed mind you. The police report shows that the attacker says she poured hot coffee on him. The attacker reports to DHS workers she poured hot coffee on him. By the time the story gets filtered through the women at DHS the "poured hot coffee" becomes "spilled a cup of coffee" and the father is forced to take a psych exam and encouraged to take domestic abuse classes.

The same woman later leaves children unattended twice in a vehicle outside a facility for trouble kids who are taken by DHS. Even though it is reported by the facility itself nothing is done to the woman.

Later the woman assaults her daughter and kicks her and her younger brother out of the house. They are 11 and 7. They are made to figure out how to find their father's apartment by walking through a neighborhood where murders, drug deals, beatings, shootings, stabbings, prostitution and other crimes are a common occurence. DHS is called and the call is ignored. The daughter is hidden in what is called in Iowa, Protective Daycare. The daycare worker does not report the abuse. When the daycare worker is reported by another daycare worker for hiding the children the person reporting is told not to rock the boat.

The story goes on with DHS workers lying in court in an attempt to hide their own guilt at ignoring the conditions of the home when the kids were removed and placed with their father.  The County Attorney is alerted by the father that the DHS worker has lied in court and he can prove it. The County Attorney sends him a letter stating that even if he could prove perjury, false reports, negligence, and threats made against him the County Attorney cannot prosecute and would in fact act as the DHS workers free counsel.

The woman, the biological mother, goes on to eventually assault two adults and is put in jail. She is also charged and sentenced for 2 counts of theft. She is never charged with the assault on the child even though the assault is reported in an affidavit to the Juvenile Court by a high level DHS worker.

The father finds, while looking through documents discovered hidden in the family home, after he retakes possession, that at the time of his wedding his so called wife was still married and was in fact married for 10 months to the first husband after his marriage. The crime, which is known as bigamy is reported to the police who ignore it until the father pushes it. Then the County Attorney ignores it and refuses to prosecute.

During the course of Juvenile Court the father discovers that a service provider who has been working against him even though supposedly objective is a facebook friend of the attorney for the mother.

During the course of Juvenile Court the attorney appointed for the kids, the man has custody of, is also the attorney appointed for another child who has been accused of sexual molestation. Iowa Juvenile court doesn't see a problem with an attorney being the counsel for both the abuser and the victims in a crime. The father reports the unethical behavior to the Iowa Supreme Court. They say they will investigate and never do.

The story in the Cedar Rapids Gazette says that the Federal Team spoke to judges, service providers, DHS workers, and families chosen at random. The fact is that Iowa DHS would have known which families were spoken to. Does anyone believe, given the power given to DHS workers to lie and harass families by the Iowa Supreme Court, that anything resembling a real review was done in Iowa.

If you see this story about DHS in your state or if it makes national news. Don't believe a word of it. It's more lies like the unemployment numbers and the jobless recovery by this administration pretending to be doing its job. More window dressing and whitewashing.
